  1. he is a gap filler player. does all the dirty work other guys won't do. super tough.

defensively he has always been elite. can guard 1-3 pretty seamlessly. He can be really frustrating for smaller players with his length and quickness. The Pels used him to guard Steph and Kyrie, but also guys like LeBron. Whoever the toughest perimeter/wing matchup was, they'd give it to Naji.

He's one of those guys that makes a lot of plays that make you stand up and cheer. A guy you really like to have on your team. No matter what's happening with his offense, he will be a plus defender and rebounder

  2. I donā€™t think money or the agent switch was the issue with DJJ. I think he wants to start and didnā€™t want to come off the bench behind Klay.

  3. Now with Klay on this team, I would love Dinwiddie back. It was very disappointing that he chose the Lakers over coming back. He wouldā€™ve helped a lot during the Finals run and probably he couldā€™ve helped winning more than a game in the Finals. Come back Dinwiddie!

  4. no heā€™s terrible when it counts. In his last eight PLAYOFF GAMES, high intensity games, the ones that count, the ones we traded for him for, heā€™s 38 for 128!!!!!!
    Thatā€™s under 30%!!!!!
14-66 in his last four games (21%).
To be fair, in the first two games of the LA series in 2023, he was spectacular (14-27 from three) BUT AWFUL SINCE THEN FROM THREE (10-42 24%, four out of five losses). Letā€™s go back another year.
In the championship year he wipes the Mavs out with eight threes (32 points), winning game five and moving on to play the Celtics, where he goes 36-101 (35%), only 5-20 in game six.
Draymond, Wiggins and even Jordan Poole
CLEARLY OUTPLAYED HIMā€¦..but he was still given credit for a defense led by Green and an offense led by Steph. We are getting the broken Down version of him we saw on April 15, 2024
When he went 0-10 vs the kings.
THAT IS SCORELESS IN 32 MINUTES VS SACRAMENTO!!!!!! Lester Quinones, a guy Iā€™ve never heard of, played two minutes, scoring four points. The Kings outscored them
64-44 in the 2nd half. THE KINGS, who subsequently lost to the Pelicans without Zion and scored 20 fewer points.

The lesson is simple. Regular season games are bullshit. The only ones that matter are the games at the end of the season when teams are fighting to avoid the play-in tournament and the playoffs, where teams and players truly play defense. In those gamesā€¦ā€¦.KLAY THOMPSON USUALLY SUCKS!!!! Heā€™s old, broken down and
When healthy, is still inconsistent and unreliable. And we just traded a good young player for the pleasure of watching him s*** all over the playoffs like grandpa after a barrel full of beans.

  5. Lets be honest, DJJ klutch move was a failed leverage attempt. In all likelihood, he knew how switching agents would effect timing. He knew he was a priority for the Mavs. But S/O to Nico, he knew something was off and made the quick move to get Naji. Also, the money dont look to good for DJJ. Maybe he wanted to be in LA… Either way, i dont believe he truly wanted to stay. Gald we pivoted.

  6. I am sad that DJJ left the Mavs but when you Look at what happened in the last couple of days (agent change and regulations around it) Mavs are surely not to blame. Weird move from DJJ, just played the finals and leaves that team for the same amount of money elsewhere.

  7. Yuuuuuup They Just Got Clay!!!!!!!!!!!!! Told yaaaaalllllllll Racoooneeeers that LUKA is The White Mamba, and Unc Drew Luka make the stars want to join the Partayyyy!!!!! Now let's get that Chip swear Luka is the Marshall Madness of the NBA, Slim Fucking Shady Luka let's goooooo!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. When DJJ switched agents it pretty much made clear that the Mavericks need to look to replace him. Marshall is a better offense player and is physically bigger athlete. Hopefully Marshall will be as good of a defensive player as DJJ. Also, if the Mavericks are able to sign Klay Thompson DJJ would have to accept moving to bench behind Klay as the starter. Naji Marshall will be okay with coming off the bench behind Klay. So, we could end up with starters of Luka, Kyrie, Klay, PJ, and Gafford and a bench of Hardy, Exem, Marshall, Grimes, and Lively. That is a pretty strong team. If there is a way to bring back Spencer Dinwiddie again that would be a good sub for Luka and Kyrie to get them more breaks during the season.

  9. What if the sign and trade isnā€™t Josh Green? What if itā€™s Maxi and Hardy for Klay? Mavs get to keep their only real point of attack defender right now. And GS gets a stretch 5 (on a short contract) that can play with Dray and Hardy to go along with their young guys
